The Story of Mr. Iyke (Dee Ndume)

— A Blind Father’s Daily Struggle for Survival

Mr. Iyke, fondly known as Dee Ndume, is a native of Umuahia North, Abia State. For the past 20 years, he has lived in complete darkness—having lost his sight to a life-altering tragedy. Despite being visually impaired, he is a father to four children, including a little one who now carries him on his back and helps him get around. Life has been unbearably tough ever since.

Unable to work or provide for his family, Mr. Iyke relies on the little support he can get from kind strangers. He goes from house to house, not in pride, but in desperation—seeking help just so his children can eat at least once a day. Sadly, none of them are enrolled in school because they simply cannot afford it.

This is not just a story of a man who lost his sight, but of an entire family on the brink of hopelessness. Yet, with the support of kindhearted people like you, we believe their story can change.

We are calling on individuals, organizations, and compassionate hearts to help:

  • Send his children back to school through scholarships

  • Provide food and welfare support for the family

  • Help Mr. Iyke start something sustainable for daily living

Let’s come together to give this family a second chance. Your little support today could become the miracle they’ve been praying for.

Together, we can restore hope and bring back light into their lives.
